Packages, Cards, and Names

LC and AYLA: We are all missing Skeeter. But a few kitties mentioned that cards and packages are on their way to us that include Skeeter's name. They felt upset by that.

We say, do not be upset. No one knew at the time that Skeeter would not be here to receive them. We will consider it a personal honor ta receive those cards and packages in his name. It will be good to see his name and accept the cards and such in the meaning they were sent. We will receive them in joy and remembrance of our dear Big Brother.

And by the same token, many kitties have recently or will soon receive cards that Skeeter signed. Grieve not, for he signed them in life and we sent them off not knowing what would occur the next couple of days. Accept the cards without tears, knowing that Skeeter was there at the time to sign them with good holiday wishes and love for you all, as we did ourselfs.

And lastly, we want to let efrykitty know that we both have receives dream messages from Skeeter. We unnerstand he is healthy and happy beyond The Rainbow Bridge, 5 years old, with claws (!), in the prime of his life again. And that he was greeted at the Bridge by Tinkerbelle, Jeremy, and Mischief (who came before) and many of the kitties who passed over the Bridge the past 2 years, and efen kitties he nefer knew before.

He said he is special friends with Cloud Chaser, who crossed the Bridge with him at the same time and that they have great fun wrasslin a bit and running around together. I guess it kind of makes a bond, since they nefer knew each ofer before.

Skeeter also said that he wouldn't be able to contact us this dream way for too long, as he will get pulled into his new life stronger each day.

LC: But he left me a final thought. That he was with me so many years, I could hear him longer. That it wouldn't be so long before he greeted me, mebbe a year, and that I could be 6 months old again and we would nap together as we used ta do. I'll like that.

But, really, don't be upset if Skeeter's name travels around fer a few weeks. He doesn't wantya ta be any upset about that...

Just stopping by to see how you're doing.

We've all been through this before, and will go through it again willingly because we love cats and we keep bringing them into our lives knowing they won't be with us for long.

It doesn't get any easier each time we lose someone we love and the pain is just as intense each time. With one cat I couldn't even walk down the pet food aisle at the grocery store. With another, my arms actually ached to hold her and with another I cried for months when I passed by her picture in living room.

When we lost 2 littermate sisters a month apart at age 14, my husband and I said "No more, we just can't do this again". But the house was so empty and we needed to fill our hearts with love, so 2 months later we adopted 2 more. They were George and his littermate sister Gracie, who died unexpectedly at age 6. Since then we adopted 3 more and the cycle goes on!

Time will heal and Skeeter will have his special place in your heart. Pay extra attention to LC & Ayla since they're grieving too.

Texas sent our parents messages too. We never met him, sadly, but he came to both of our parents in dreams to let them know he was OK and happy again without icky cancer.

We expected nothing less from a handsome orange male! Do you think he might wander in for a moment to inspect those packages as they arrive and you think of him?

I am glad that Skeeter is happily ensconced at the Bridge - and with his friends both old and new. You all loved him a lot and that will make him feel all warm inside.

Take care. ((((hugs)))) from Mom and rumbly purrs from Milo and Alfie.

Don't be surprised if Skeeter continues to contact you for a little while, maybe not in such detail, and maybe not verbally, but don't be surprised. Mommy caught a glimpse of Vincent at the top of the stairs this morning, and he's been at the Bridge for almost 2 years and 9 months.

We're purrin' for ya still. I'm glad Skeeter was able to talk to the girls and set their hearts at ease. We do pray that your heart will ease, not from forgetfulness, but under the rain of love and care, the purring and purraying of your friends.

We're so glad that Skeeter came to talk with you both. It's nice to know that he is well and happy. It's nice for him to take a moment from his fun to check in with you. Both Purdy and Basil still visit me every once and a while, sometimes Mommy even thinks she sees Basil waiting for her in the drive way.

We got your card yesterday and we, like Parker, were both happy and sad. But we promise to be happy from now on.

LC, we're glad that you'll see hims soon, but not too soon ok? I think The Big Thing needs you around for a while.

Purrs,
Jake

I got a card and it made me smile. It was like Skeeter was saying "I know you're never forget awesome me!"

Someone wise once said "Let my name be the wisp of a memory that tumbles from your lips with a smile." Actually, I think that was me. After some nip. But I think it's true. The names of the Cat Who Go Before Us make us happy because we got to know them, and that makes me smile.

We sent all of you a card. I am sending lots of purrs to you (I may have drooled a bit on the envelope too, sorry about that). It is very hard for the humans when one of us has to go to the Bridge. My mum still has dreams sometimes when she can feel her dog sleeping against the back of her knees, and he went to the Bridge about 14 years ago now.

We are saddened to hear about Skeeter. We've been reading about him and the tears have been flowing freely. What a wonderful friend he was. It's so hard to let them go.

Don't know if you remember your comment on our blog when we showed the visitors in the basement, but the date showed 2005 because mom is so dumb she can't figure out how to get rid of the date/time. It resets every time she changes the batteries.
Peace be with all of you. You & Kelly's people have been both been in our thoughts. Purrrrrrrrrrrrs.

I've been lurking and reading ever since I found your site searching for reviews on the Breeze litter system about 5 months ago. I'm surprised how sad I feel for the loss of Skeeter, never having known him in person and not knowing of him for long. I'm truly sorry for your loss.

Sugar and Lindy are my first cats ever. They happily use the Breeze and I happily never have to step in litter gravel again. It might be worth it for you to try again some point in the future.

This internet stranger and her cats wish you many more happy moments with LC and Ayla. Thank you for sharing Skeeter's wonderful personality with us.
