Garden Thursday

IZA:  Well, after the past 2 months of brutal heat, the garden is not in great shape.  The Big Thing spent his garden time watering, so there are more weeds around than usual, and some of the plants are lookin a bit peaked annyway.  But there are some good things ta see.

First, I wanna show off this lovely flower.  I think it is called a Rose Hibiscus, but the label is long gone...
The flower is bigger than my head!  It doesn't bloom for long, but it sure is pretty!

Next, we have more of a visitor surprise!  Dont move suddenlike, or it will fly away...
We like it cuz it is very bootiful, but also cuz it eats mosquiters!

Iffen ya are real careful, ya can get closer an see the very strange wings it has.  They look very delicate...
Here is the best crop TBT is getting this year.  I showed ya the purple ones a few weeks ago.  We are still getting purple ones, but now there are yella an oranj ones too.  Some red ones are comin along soon...
These Black Eyed Susans are holdin up real good.  They been bloomin strong fer a whole month now an dont look like they plan ta stop soon.  For a perenial, thats really impressive!  TBT says he should divide them up an put them in other places so the there is more color next year in the hottest part of summer.  I think he shouldnt mess with a plant what is happy where it is, but ya know how Beins are...

An speakin of long bloomers, these salvia are still bloomin strong after 2 months.  But theyre annuals an sposed ta do that. Still, TBT says he wont use them as border flowers nex year.  They were sposed ta be a foot tall, but are as high as I can reach (about 2 foots).  But he will use them where the height werks better.
Thank ya fer joinin me on this weeks garden tour!  Ya are welcome ta sit in the shade with me fer a while.  An there is good water in the little pond...
