Remembering Skeeter

THE BIG THING:  It is hard to believe it has been 2 years since Skeeter went over The Bridge...  I decided the best thing to do today was to collect some of the best pictures of him I could find and post them in order of the days of his life with me.

His first day here:
After 1 week (and that was a small remote):
His first Spring (age 8 months):

Protecting young LC from Mean Old Tinkerbell, about age 2:
Playin with my parents' cat Jeremy at about 2.5 years.  Jeremy stayed with us many Winters while my parents were traveling in the 90s:
Standing up for the treats he loved so much:

His "Glamor Shot", about age 5:
Curling up on his Gizzy quilt:
His best funny picture:
The "family" picture, Spring 2008:
Napping in his favorite chair:
His spot in the yard:

The CCSI Episode "Detective Skeeter" Tribute:
Skeeter awaiting LC's arrival Jan 2010:

Skeeter, I love you always and miss you every day...

"If it takes forever, I will wait for you
For a thousand summers, I will wait for you
'Til you're back beside me, 'til I'm holding you
'Til I hear you sigh here in my arms

Anywhere you run to, anywhere you go
Every day remember, how I love you so
In your heart believe what in my heart I know
That forever more I'll wait for you

If it takes forever, I will wait for you
For a thousand summers, I will wait for you
'Til you're back beside me, 'til I'm touching you
And forever more cherish your love

Anywhere you run to, anywhere you go
Every day remember, how I love you so
In your heart believe what in my heart I know
That forever more I'll wait for you"

I went and re-read the several hundred comments left for Skeeter on his final days and after.  They brought tears to my eyes again, but also help to my heart then and now.  I cannot express to all of you how much those messages meant and mean to me.  He had so many friends and I remain thankful for every one...

I can't explain how Skeeter's passing hurts so much even now after 2 years.  I have missed good cats before and since, but never any like Skeeter.  I still cry when I think of him.  LC was a good cat, Ayla and Iza are good cats.  But there was something about Skeeter that was beyond that.

So on this day of his passing, I feel I should remind myself of him.  "I love and miss you every day Skeeter. You were the best"...
