Garden Thursday

There isn't annythin in the garden ta show, but we are still ecited cuz we been gettin gardening catalogs fer the past 2 weeks.

TBT is takin out his list of seeds and is going through it ta see which ones are gettin too old.  He has a system...

Its too complicated fer us, but he has details about it HERE  at his own bloggie.  Ya gardeners might enjoy readin about it.

Fer us, the big deal is in the results.  Oh, we admire his little plants inside (and snoopervise as he is doin it), but the portant thing is the pretty flowers and veggies.  Hmmm?  Oh of course we dont eat veggies.  But we dont eat flowers either (usually).    But we also hafta remember that some of the plants are NIP!  So we encourage his activities for prettiness AND personal pleasure.

Fer ezample, here I am examinin his seed collection.

And he is getting ready ta pot up 6 (SIX!) Nip plants from cuttings that he got to send out roots in a bottle of water.  Really!  We dont know how that werks an we dont care.  We're into the results side of the production line.

One thing that matters is that we're gonna start seein stuff begin ta grow next month (indoors at least), and that means the weather will start ta get better after that.  An we gotta admit it IS fun when he spreads seed catalogs out on the table and we can paw around at them.  He has a pen wavin in the air, fun ta bat at.  The new opened catalogs smell innerestin.  An we can really get his attention by sittin on all the papers he is trying ta write on.

C'mon Spring!

Really? You guys don't even eat lettuce? Personally, I love lettuce!

Sounds like a very fun time ahead!

LC ate lettuce ribs a few times. She called it "wet crunkies". We sniffed it a few times and declined.

You two are real good helpers!
Be sure to show us the sprouts when they come up so we can know spring is closer, ok?

We sure will SS&S! Our 1st scheduled plantin day is Feb 12th. Unless TBT gets brave. Then it will be Feb 6th. That means brocolli, we think.

Your human has a serious system going there! I'm glad there is some nip included - with all the care he takes with these seeds and seedlings, I bet you will have some fantastic nip1

It looks like we will have 5 live Nip plats outside next year, and one inside on a windersill. We are not sure how to prepare for this...

We may seem stupid all next year.

We don't have any place that we can grow anything here. Mom has often said she wants a vegetable garden. Personally, we can't see why.

Codie and Gracie - Here's a secret. Iffen yer mom have good veggies, she uses less meat. And guess who gets the extra meat?

Srsly, when TBT have great veggies, WE get more raw meats from the cuttin board!

West 40 Cats - TBT allus has one Nip plant growing where we cant get at it. So when he move the pots around there is allus one in GREAT shape!

Jonesie here!

I'm taking notes because my mom and dad have never been organized to save our seeds and save them all marked and stuff. Once my mom tried to save corn seeds and she forgot where she put them! She's hopeless.
