Garden Tour Thursday

AYLA:  This may be a bit of a surprise, but I get to give the garden tour today.  I'll explain more about that in a few days.  I apologize for the earliness, but we are havin the hots here this week.  Morning is better.

So I got out and about.  And I figured that gave me the right ta to the Garden Tour.  Iza can do the snacks, since she is inside!  I plan to make the most of it!

Please come along with me, we are at transition season an I got some primo flowers ta show ya today!!!

First, we have this lovely unknown (ta us) flower.  The label is long lost.  There useta be 6 of them, but they hadda bad year when I first arrived.  No, it wasnt my fault.  I love the yellow flowers.
And these purple ones are lovely too.  Some kind of perennial salvia (purple rain?)...
They look even better together...
Out front, we have stella d'oro lillies goin strong around the mailbox.  They can bloom all summer sometimes.  We like ta keep the mail lady happy.  She brings packages to the door when she COULD make us go to the PO for them.  If we meet her at the mailbox, she tells us she likes the flowers.
She also likes our address fish, too.  It has seen better times.  Before TBT used real stiff wire, it banged into the mailbox post.  He says that gives it "character".  Apparently, that means "lazy, so I dont have ta make a new one".  He took it off couple of months ago cuz the old fishline he used was too loose.  It was nice when a neighbor asked what happened ta the fish.  People notice stuff!
OK, back in the yard, our hydrangea are startin ta bloom.  They stand out at twilight an moonlight bein white like that.

Oh great, here comes Iza!  Join us, but keep quiet!!!  This is MY tour.
[OK, but Im here iffen ya make mistakes.]

I wont, thank you, and go make snacks for our guests!  It IS your turn...

[*%#&@]  ("hiss")

Well, thats Iza for ya...

Now this place is a bit odd.  Not happy-lookin.  Somethin crushed down all these lysimachia.  Not like a vishus deer, cuz they are all brokin 6" high.  And we dont get deer in the high enclosed fence annyway.  Mebbe a crazed groundhog.  Iffen annyone has ideas, our ears are open...
Here is another weerd thing.  This tomato just curled over on its own.  Mebbe it is genetically irregular, ya know?  The clamp wasnt there when it curled.  TBT says that if it is OK otherwise, the cage will support its future growth just fine.  We'll see...  The other tomatoes are doing wunnerfully!

Lets go up on the deck ta see what Iza an Marley have brought out for snacks and refreshments.

Um, nothing?  Oh gosh, I am so embarassed.  They did nothing this week.

They are jealous that I am outside.  Please hold on a moment...  HEY TBT, get food out here NOW!

Waiting patiently 60 seconds...

[food, snacks, treats, drinks appear]

Ah, that's better.  Lets see.  2 treats, some Soulistic Chicken with Gravy, and some dry crunchies!  And Meowgaritas?  Well done on short notice.  Thanks TBT, you can go now....

I will deal with Iza later...  Now lets all go down to the patio below the deck an roll around on the cool cement!  It is getting too HOT!  In fact, after cool rolls, lets go inside.  We got kitty trees and boxes and snacks all around...  I see TBT openin the basement door...

Your blooms look terrific, just wonderful! Okay, except for the "lysimachia." We'll have to Google that, have never heard of it. LOL.

We'd love to come and chill on your patio for a while. Then feel free to teleport over and chill on our garden rocks! :-)

Oops, we meant to post that comment from our own account!

We had the hots earlier this week. 100 degrees Monday & Tuesday. Now it's 60. A 40 degree change in a couple of days. That's Minnesota for ya!

Thanks for your sympathies for little Sasha. We miss her a lot!

Also, you commented about hoping Zolie still trusts mom. Mom is real worried about that too. All poor Zolie knows is she got caught in a trap and then people hurt her. We hope she's ok. She needs time to heal since we can't give her pain meds.

That was sure a great tour! It's sure been hot here too, so being cool is a real treat!

Thanks for the tour, especially in this awful heat. We are in northern Virginia, so we have the same hots going on. Baby says it's okay cuz she can go in her fort to cool down a little.

Hi Ayla! It is awesome you get to give the tour this week! You did a great job so tell Iza not to worry about anything being wrong.

We love the purple and yellow flowers together - the yellow look familiar but we don't know the name or anything. They are a good color combo, though. And we think the fish is awesome on your mailbox - our mailbox is not that fancy - it is right at our door though so we do see the mail lady bring it.

We don't know what could have crushed down the lysimachia - it looks like something laid down on it. It you are sure it can't be a sleepy deer then our only other guess is that bigfoot guy we saw on TV.

Thanks for the tour, and don't worry about the food not being ready like you wanted - it still worked out good in the end!

Ayla, all of your flowers and plants look beautiful! Thanks for the tour. Sorry about the lysimachia plant. We don't know what could've done that other than something not quite big enough to squish the plants all the way flat...

It seems like efurryone is having problems with the hots. Just two days ago here it was cool like winter and now its 90 squillion degrees out!

Ayla, you did a pawsome tour guide job! Unlike certain other kitties, who did not bring out any refreshments...

That was a great garden tour, Ayla. Your flowers are looking great. Now we are heading over to the patio to partake of the refreshments that TBT pulled together so quickly.

You know what Ayla...when we see you outside we kinda hope to see you flying through the air catching birdies and stuff...did you do any of that? We want to know more about how you managed to get outside!

Lovely flowers, could your yellow ones be a coreopsis?

That was a wonderful tour, Ayla. We have the hots here, too. A nice cool roll sounds perfect.
