A Bit Freaky Friday

Well, Wow, We are sory there wasn't a Thursday Garden Tour yesserday!

Wouldda been a bit awkward, there IS that dead groundhog outside and we been stayin inside acause  of it.  Stinkey stinkey.  TBT was SPOSED ta go bury after it the first day, but it got nasty, an he dint.  So we are stayin inside fer a couple more days.

HE went out an looked at it an decided it best ta just wait 2 more days for itta vaninish completely.  It happens fast in this hot weather.  Lots of flies though.

Its cuz TBT doesn't live a 24 hour day.  We dint know he was weerd about that until we read other kitty blogs where the Beins live reglar 24 hour days.

WE dont care.  We get up whenever HE gets up, but we are crepuscular, too.  Dawn an sunset is OUR times.  If he is awake then, fine.  If not, we just run all over him in bed.  Hes got a 25 hour day habit an it cycles funny sometimes.  Sometimes he gets up in the mornin, eventually he sometimes he gets up late in the day.  Livin with a single retired Bein can be strange sometimes.  Sometimes we have Breakfast in the late day!  Yeah, its odd.  But we get all we want to eat, so we guess it is OK.

Like today.  He JUST got up now, an MOST Beins dont do that apparently.  But we got a great breakfast of Evo Chicken, an a hour of tossed mousies, so who cares?  An we will great more stinkey goodness 2 more times today.  And crunchies in between.  An we all spent a hour at the kitty tree gettin scricitches.  Thats allus good!  An he is tossin mousies all OVER the place fer us.

We WOULD kinna like ta get out at that stinkey groundhog, but he says we cant.  He is mean sometimes.  He went an looked at it real close up, so we kinna figure we ought ta get a chance, but we have been kept in since he killed it.  Is THAT fair?  No way.  He is mean like that.  The only thing WE are gonna see is a clean hosed-out trap inna few days.  Totally unfair!

We think we are all gonna go to bed fer the "night" about 7 am.  Do you go through that too?  Suits us just fine, but we hear that is odd.

Wait, wait - your human killed the groundhog, and then he did not eat his kill?! That's almost breaking a Cat Rule! Then him not letting YOU guys eat it is TOTALLY a Cat Rule infraction!!! And I was going to wish him a happy birthday and everything too. Heh. I may have to take it back.

BTW, you DO have weird hours! And I was beginning to think my human was odd because she gets up at 9 or so and goes to bed around 2 a.m. and no one else seems to have a human with that schedule.

We agree about eatin that what is killed. But have ya everr eated groundhogs? No way. They smell bad. They DIE fresh smellin all wrong. Like rats rollin in dung. Somethin about them is just all wrong.

Yer human is OK. Ours goin ta bed at 2 am seems normal. Its getting up at 2 pm that doesn't seem right. Or 5 pm. We all pile on him at dawn, an he tolerates that. Keeps him in bed long.

He got stuck down by all of us yesserday on an unner the blankies really kept him in bed long an got him licked fer hours by all of us at once.

Uh, you have a rotting groundhog carcass outside? Ugh, no wonder you're stuck in the house. Too late to do anything with it now -- lol.

We agree that whatever is "normal" for you is FINE.

Our human's always been an early riser, even as an infant and young child she never slept in, certainly not as a teen. Up around 5AM or 6AM. But now, since cats have come into her life, she's usually up by 4AM...but she leaves for work around 6AM anyway. So that means she's often in bed at 8PM, sometimes earlier, usually not later than 9PM. She'd like to be able to sleep in till 5AM or so, but uh, well, we don't let her. We have her so well trained now that she's up at the same time even on weekends and holidays. Who knows what she'll be like once she's retired. We won't be around by then, though. Heck, the mom says she might not be around then...LOL.

So sorry you are stuck in the house. He should have eaten his kill, I agree with Sparkle. I like flies myself - fun toys to swat!

Zolie has been leaving lots of dedd tokens all around the perimeter of the house. Mostly voles, but yesterday some odd looking thing that looked larger like a chippy in size with plush ginger fur but a long, long thin nekkid tail. Mom picks the offerings up & flings them into the wooded area between our house & the others next to ours. Any idea what that might have been?

I agree, Sparkle is right...more training is required...after your nap!

It's good to be able to keep your own hours. I wish my 'rents could do that. Someday, they say...

My human is dull. She gets up at 7 and goes to be about 10 although she reads with me on her lap until 11 or so (unless she is really really tired).

Our Mommy keeps pretty regular hours but Daddy is a freewheelin crazyman when it comes to sleeping!
Too bad about the groundhog, we bet by now it's REALLY smelling "interesting".

That's too bad about the groundhog!

I think your hours sound just fine! Whatfur works for you is what's normal.

Wow, we can't believe a deaded groundhog would disappear in a few days...but then, you're right...in the hot sun it might just melt away! And we think TBT should keep whatever hours he wants...as long as you get your regular feedings!!

Your BT sounds a lot like our Mom. She often goes to bed when most normal people are waking up. It's really bad over vacations when she doesn't have to be at work. We don't mind tho because we get fed right before she goes to sleep and again when she wakes up.

My Human is having weird summer hours now. During the school year she is gone from the house by like 6:15 inna morning but in the summer she sleeps till maybe 7 or 7:30 which means my breakfast is LATE. I do not approve, but I sulk instead of attack. It doesn't work very well.

Is it TBT's Birfday?? Happy Birfday! Maybe you kids should make him a toona cake?

If the alarm doesn't wake up my mom, we whap her awake at 4:59am...since we don't want her to rely on a non-cat alarm.

Read Sparkle=Happy Birthday to TBT!!...Our Mommy wishes she could have those hours, but of course, we keep her on our schedule=even when she doesn't spring out of bed at 4am on weekends, we walk all over her until she does since it's time for breakfast and then of course, time for our naps (why can't she go right back to sleep like we do=that's not our fault, we are trying to be a good example for her)...Happy weekend, sweet friends...kisses...Calle, Halle, Sukki
