Evo Problem?

MARLEY:  I eat almost anything. And we have all LOVED our Evo 95% Chicken stuff.  But all of a sudden, none of us like it anymore.  Anyone else suddenly noticen that?  TBT says he knows it got bought by some place not so famous fer great quality food.  An that it MIGHT fall in quality.

So he wrote to them and they say they havent changed anny of the ingredients.  But he thinks there might be ways ta say that an still have made some kinna change (quality, percentages, etc).  So is that them or is it just us by changin tastes?

Anny opinions?

We don't eat EVO, but our guess is they might be getting some ingredient from a less quality source...if all three of you are off on it, it must be different, and not in a good way.

We don't eat that either, but that has to be so disappointing.

We don't eat it, but we *have* experience of being off a food we previously had eaten. (Natural Balance and Nature's Instinct, a couple of years ago.) The mom was so excited to find half-decent food we actually would eat, but the next batch she bought we refused. So she figured the companies had changed something about their "recipe," unfortunately.

We don't like Wellness, but we've heard the same thing about that brand from time to time.

Sometimes batches just taste different, I think. The last Fancy Feast beef & chicken the Woman got us was off, and neither Buddah nor I would eat it. If she waits a month to buy it again, we'll probably find it acceptable.

It happens...annoys the bejoobity out of the People, too...

Honestly, I rarely like the same food twice! My human says she spends more on the food she throws away that I reject than she spends to feed herself! But that's just me. If all three of you don't like the EVO, it could just be a bad batch, or maybe what you said about the parent company cutting corners somehow and it affecting the food's tastiness. Maybe go back in a month or so and try a couple of cans from a newer batch and see how they work for you.

We don't eat the EVO chicken, but we have the EVO venison canned and it's not our favorite, but we do eat it.

Frequently when a food company gets purchased they don't change anything but they do fall off on the quality control or do "in house" quality control (which is really worthless because the quality control person is paid to say it's good) so something might happen in the batch that no one likes or has a smell that is a bit off. We do change our choices of food from time to time though just because it keeps the Woman on her toes.

Well, I dunno. But I *DO* know that sometimes I love a particular food, love it, love it, love it, love it.....until one day I don't love it anymore. Heh heh. It makes the Human crazy.

Unfortunately, it probably is different sum how. We hate it when this happens. It can be hard finding food efurryone enjoys. Good luck. Purrs.

We know Natura Pet Foods was bought by Procter & Gamble and have been wondering if they would make any changes to the food. It would not surprise me.

We used to eat Wellness Core, but then we got picky about it. Mommy found Life's Abundance and we loves it! Less green papers than the Wellness Core, so Mommy loves it too! The nice peoples at Life's Abundance send it to us once a month so Mommy doesn't let us run out. They also have yummy treats!

I haven't gotten any new EVO in a while, so I don't know about changing ingredients, but I have had issues with the cats deciding they suddenly don't like their food. I found that mixing the food in with a new variety can help, or switching to a new food and then switching back.

Mine seem to get bored if I give them the same food all the time, so I have a stash of cans that are different meats and brands. I mix different ones together or alternate them, and it seems to keep them from getting sick of any one type.

Well, I have tried various combinations. When I first moved them to "premium" foods, I tried them all. They settled on Evo 95% chicken and duck, and venison. Then I found Soulistic chicken and they liked that too.

Then they stopped eating the Evo, one flavor at a time. but still loved the Soulistic.

Now they have the Soulistic, several Merrick flavors (Cowboy Cookout, Turducken, Thankgiving Dinner, and Grammy's Pot Pie), which they will USUALLY eat, and 2 Spot's Stew flavors (the chicken and the turkey) which they seem to be liking better lately.

But I have 3 cases of Evo sitting around. They will sometimes eat most of a can once a week, but sometimes won't touch it.

It is hilarious (but expensive) watching Iza scratching around the bowls to try and bury it...

Or a shipment of foods got stale, overheated etc. So the taste went bad.

We used to eat EVO chicken too. It was our favorite so much so Mom would mix it in our treat bottel too so we would be getting the good with the not so good. We loved it!

Now both Madison and I pick it our of our food. Mom started mixing our food with some other stuff. At the end of the day all that's left is the EVO. We don't like it any more. We know that the big company changed it even if they don't want to say so :-)
