Kibble Management

Yesserday, we talked about New Litter Management.  Today, we want to talk about Kibble Management.  We admire it when TBT finds ways ta make it easier fer him ta take good care of us.  Not that we care DIRECTLY how hard he has ta werk fer us, but we figure iffen it makes it more LIKELY he will, thats probly a GOOD thing...

So, the deal was that first, he was keepin all these containers cuz he had lots and uniformity is good fer storing stuff.  And he noticed he went through a lot of one kind, so he started saving them.  Mostly fer shop stuff like cleaning rags, loose hardware,  disposable latex gloves.  Bein stuff (yawn)...

But one day as he was trying ta pour small amounts (snacks) of our Eukanuba kibble, it occurred ta him that there was a better way.

Here is the container he was savin...  What can we say, he LOVES mixed nuts (and how appropriate).  Its a 2 lb container, and has a nice wide opening
He even cleans the label off (the better ta see the insides).

So he took a bunch of them and filled them with the kibble.  Then he cut off the bag labels an taped them ta the outside.
The good part fer US is that the kibble container stays on the kitchen shelf, where it is MUCH more likely that he will just grab a handful of kibble then when the big bag was inna closet.  We get more that way.  Plus all the containers are stacked on the floor in the MewsRoom, so we can see there is a good supply.  THAT is comfortin, ya know?

Do your Beins do stuff like that?  Feel free ta describe them.  We are allus lookin fer ideas for TBT ta make his an our lives easier.

Mom found a really big container that holds our 10 pound bag of Indigo Moon and she just dumps it in there and it sits on the floor of the pantry. She has a scoop that she uses to scoop our food for us and we get it once or twice a day depending upon how full our dishes are.

Hi - thanks for your comment over at Purrchance To Dream about Spooker. She's doing better this afternoon, thanks.
The injection she received was called Convenia.

Our mom is probably the most unorganized woman on the face of the earth but she is trying hard to correct that this summer. She's doing lots of cleaning out and purging of stuff that's not needed anymore and donating it. So the house is feeling bigger lately.
She does put kibble from out big bag into a plastic holder with a pour spout she got free from Science Diet years ago. Even though we don't eat that kind of food anymore the container works great!
She needs a better way to keep Toby's timothy hay neat. It comes in a bale inside a big cardboard box that she keeps downstairs and she transfers handfulls into a smaller bag to use upstairs and refills it as Toby goes thru it. Messy.
TBT is very organized.

Mama has a big tupperware that is exactly the right size to hold a medium bag of kibble. She hadded to start putting the kibble in the tupperware acause Kit was chewing through the bag! The tupperware is the perfect size for the kibble and a scoop.

I swear, if my human left kibble or treats out in a jar like that, Binga would figure out a way to open it up!

Our mom wants to know if you guys will rent out TBT so he can come here and get her organized! She does put our dry food in a big Lock-N-Lock container that she bought. But our treats stay in the bag they come in.

My Human is not nearly so organized (though I will say she keeps a good food supply). She mixes three different kind of kibble together for me: two "good" kinds (Royal Canin & Wellness) and my very very favorite (Purina ONE). Now, she'd rather I ate only the "good" kind, but that's a non-starter and because I am naturally very skinny she doesn't want to push it too much. But she's not very consistent about the proportions. Her usual measurement is "some" of each. Then she puts it in a plastic container with a hinged top and puts a little scoop in there and that's what I get once a day plus wet food twice a day.
We have struggles of the "good" vs. favorite wet food, too. I'll eat the Wellness and the Royal Canin, but Whiskas and Fancy Feast are the BEST. So we sort of muddle through with a combo.

Your BT is organized! We don't know if there's a method to mom's madness! Doesn't appear that there is! Haf a great day, anyways.

We don't really do any thing fancy, but our kibble is in a container with a spout so it's easy to pour some out!

I'll bet that big container keeps the food fresher than in the bag, too!

Yes, our mom does the same thing with large containers.
They are great for crunchies and cookies too
