GLOOOOOM!

We are horrified.  Never thought this would happen ta us.  TBT said a particlar  bad werd today...

"DIET"

Do we look THAT fat?  TBT says "the scales dont lie", though.  Today we got weighed, and the sad tale of the scale was Iza 13 lbs, Marley 13 lbs, and Ayla 8.5 lbs!  Now, in absolute terms that doesnt sound too bad ta us.  But TBT says its the steady upward direction that troubles him.  But we all made our best objections anyhow:

IZA:  "I ONLY gained .5 lb inna year!"
MARLEY:  "Im a growing mancat!"
AYLA:  "Im jus makin up fer lost time!"

To which he replied:  "Iza (aka PUDGE), you've ALWAYS been fat; Marley, a lb per month of life is too much; Ayla, you make a good point, but that 2 pounds in a month!"

So we complained that its not fair.  We run around an wrassle a lot, we chase tossed toys an each other, an we go up an down the cat trees.  Its YOUR fault fer feedin us so generously...

(OH BAST)

Well THAT was a mistake!!!  TBT jus laffed an said he was sure we would trap ourselfs like that.  He is TRICKY!  OK, so we split a can of stinky goodness 3 times a day.  An get a handful each of crunchies twice in between each can...  We ARE really good at begging fer crunchies...

Sadly, we THINK we just lost a handful of crunchies between each can.  That is, iffen we didnt lose a whole can per day.

We feel for you! We've heard that awful "diet" word around our house too. We had lost a pound or two after Annie passed (we needed to, according to the mom) because she wasn't leaving stinky goodness out all the time, trying to tempt Annie and which some of us (not Annie) were eating. So that all stopped and we got down to a better weight. But then, well, she kinda let the strict food limit slide and well, yes, we've gained back the weight and maybe a bit more. Derry is especially chubby (outright "fat," the mom says) and always has been, gains weight very easily. He's a little butterball now! :-/

So we commiserate, 'cause we'll be joining you on the food rationing.

You know all you guys make me love my vet. I hear the chunky Chey comment all the time but the vet is thrilled that I am a bit chunky after last year. Besides they say I am robust and not fat, although I weight in at almost 11 lbs and I've never been more than 10 before.

What is this diet of which you speak? Binga and Boodie split a 3-oz. can of food for breakfast and a 6-oz can of food for dinner. I get to eat as much as I want, except that rarely adds up to much more than a 3-oz can of food. I am the only one who gets treats regularly. Well, Binga and Boodie get hairball remedy, but they THINK it's a treat!

So none of us have ever been on diets. Unless maybe Binga and Boodie have been on permanent diets. (Kind of like my human.)

Diets aren't too bad, but I couldn't get enough to eat so I'm on a second one too!

We know all about evil diets. We have been on one for more than a year. I, Eric was 23 lbs but now I am just over 19 lbs. We are big cats and stand high so mum says another pound should be enough for me. Flynn has never been overweight and goes between 13 and 14 lbs, and I think mum sneaks him some treats when I am not looking because he had to go on the diet with me. We used to have dried food down all day and stinky goodness at night. Now we get Stinky Goodness for breakfast and supper and 6-7 crunchies as treats.

YoW! Oh, that dreaded "D" word! We're sorry! Our mom is really stingy with the food and treats here so we all maintain our girlish figgers but Minnie is in a similar situation as you kitties! Maybe we can all send you some treats that you can stash in that one hidey hole under the cupboard you have...

On noes, diet. Derby is now 13 pounds down from 16 without a diet, just from chasing Ducky. Ducky is 8 pounds.

We thinks diet is a four letter werd!

Oh you poor kitties!!! We know just what you mean! Mom keeps trying to diet us all the time, but she usually forgets what she's doing and reverts back to the old ways. So it's her fault we're ummm.....large.
Mom says it's easier to keep it off than it is to lose it, and that is proving to be true!
