Garden Tour Thursday

IZA:  Well, its tulip time here!  Most of the early daffodils have faded and the late ones are just about to bloom.  So the few remaining tulips are the show for today.  First, a quick look at the pansies.  They are finally bloomin better after sittin and sulkin all Winter!

Now on to the tulips.  Last week, all these flowers were just buds.  They have opened very nicely now.  This spot near the deck is one of the few places they seem ta like.
These 2 are the last of a few dozen planted 10 years ago.  Why they hang on when all the other died after only a couple years is a mystery.  The small purple stuff around them is grape hyacinth.  They do OK and even spread.  But they dont bloom as thickly as they did years ago.
Here those 2 tulips are close up.  Its OK fer us ta walk through the grape hyacinths today - no bees.
These are 2 differnt tulips.  They are also the only survivors of a few dozen from years ago.
These 2 are funny.  TBT says he dint plant them in that tub (cuz he grows potatoes in the tubs).  It must have been the evil skwerls.  Or mebbe they were grown in pots an TBT dumped the soil in the tub, fergettin about them.  Annyway, TBT will take the bulbs out later and plant them with their friends (the ones just above).
Well, Ayla says there are some treats in the house.  An we gotta surprise today.  TBT ordered some Cat Sitter DVDs and they arrived taday.  He is leaving one on endless loop this evening iffen ya want ta see it!

Beautiful flowers.

Our mom is afraid we'd attack the TV if we had a cat sitter DVD playing when she wasn't here.

I don't gotz no yard, so I'm on my way over to dig around in those tulips. Then I'd like to reserve a space on the Otto Man and get a little nipped out.

The tulips are beautiful! The evil skwerls are very likely guilty of moving bulbs and eating them. Vishus animals!

I adore tulips, and those are beautiful! so many people only look at them outside, but I like to bring them in, they have a beautiful scent that just fills the house.

We love your pink tulips and the grape hyacinth.

We thinks the flower you were asking about is what Mommy calls Sweet Peas. They grow wild here and are very Invasive. Mommy has to pull them out of the Azaleas every spring, they are a vine. They has purplish blue flowers and make pods that have seeds in them that look like English peas. According to our neighbor deer likes to eat them.

Zolie is showing signs of being more trusting. She won't run from us when we open the door from the house leading into the garage when shes in her bed in the wheelbarrow or on top of the upright freezer. But both of those are on the other side of a two stall garage. Last summer/fall she was joining me on the deck to read (no closer that maybe 3 feet) and she also took some food out of my hand when I offered her a taste of melted cheese. She sits & looks into the house thru the sliding deck door but bolts when its opened, but only to the far side of the deck to watch us. So there are signs, but I'm not holding my breath.

My sisfur who came before me LOVED her cat sitter DVD. Mommy hasn't played it for me yet..I am so busy all of the time.

Evil squerrels dug up and ate mommy's tender tulips..destroyed the blooms and chewed down those standing. Her hates those evil squerrels.

We're glad the evel skwerls havn't eaten your pretty flowers. We have new growth, thanks to a very warm spell, but no flowers yet here in Michigan. Guess we're too late for the lap and otto man.

Nice garden, our weather got cooler, so things are slowing down on the blooming. Tulips are just now starting.
