The Human's Dad was a Marine captain during WWII--he enlisted in 1940 before the US was in the war because he wanted to choose the branch of service instead of waiting to be drafted by the army. He trained at Quantico and served in the Pacific for two years, came home for a bit with malaria, and then went back for another year or so and then was sent to occupy Japan when the war ended. He was stationed in Nagasaki, where the second bomb had been dropped only a short time before. Her Dad was a great man. He died in 1984, but she still thinks about him all the time and honors him specially on this day. Paws-Up to him and all veterans XOXOXOXO

Happy Veteran's day to you too! We gave Ayla an award over at our place, so stop by when you get a chance.
A very memorable post. Just an FYI, the Woman found that picture at the Party Store shortly before Halloween--it was close enough that it was 50% so it was like $6.00 or something. She just tore it down after the holiday because she didn't think she would get it to stay up for another year, but if we remember, we can send you one next year! (Or remind us as it gets closer)
Huh? We found it at what claimed to be a free site. Iffen it wasn't, that's between THOSE Beins ta argue about.Ayla, Iza, and Marley
We is thankful for the veterans, too! They are very brave peoples!!
