IZA:  Yeah, I got the best toesie shot of the week...
HERE, I mean...

BTW, we gotta question.  Grampa is feelin lonely by the TV, but TBT wants ta be on the computer which is W-A-A-Y in the back of the house.  It occurs ta us that he needs a laptop wif a wireless connection to the desktop computer innernets cable (or something like that).

So we are thinkin of getting him what stuff he needs iffen someone can tell us what we need to get.  We scanned his fake money card, so we can order it from, like, Amazon.  So, can anny you kittehs tell us what stuffs ta get?  Good stuffs, of course...

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop that is really quite useful. I don't think they're terribly expensive either, but mine was a gift so I'm not sure how much it cost.

Lovely toesies, Iza.

Have you tried Homeplugs? You will need two, one that is plugged into the socket and the cable from the modem goes to the Homeplug, then the second Homeplug will be at a socket where you want to be and the cable will be from the Homeplug to your desktop...

Our mum can't remember exactly what she had to do but she knows that if she could do it then it must be easy. When she got her new router the disc talked her through setting up a wireless network connection.

We depend on the male things to order stuffs like that and none of them are currently home. If you still needs help with it just email us and we will make Daddy or Jonathan responds. Mommy has a Kindle Fire and she can gets online with that, but she says it is a pain in the backside to type on, even with the stylus she bought for it. It is mostly good for reading. Mommy likes it cause it fits in her purse and she can carry it anywhere, most places even hospitals have wireless connections now. Mommy took youngest boy beans netbook to Ohio with her and she says it is better for typing but that if TBT is planning to do post from it he would be better off with a full size lap top as it is easiest to type on. All of our stuffs is Dell's and that is the extent of our knowledge. Most of the stuffs already has the wireless stuffs now you just has to have a router that does wireless. Mommy says it is pretty easy to set up as she did the Kindle Fire and the netbook all by herselfs. But we already had the wireless router for the Daddy and Jonathan's laptops so all she had to do was tell the device to look for a connection.

You probably already have wireless on your modem, you may need to talk to your internet provider about walking you through the set up the first time. But if you get a new laptop(Mom is getting a new HP because the laptop she has is old and slow) they are nearly seemless to "hook up" to a wireless connection all you'll need to the "key" number usually right on the side of your modem. If Mom can you anyone can! MOL!!!

Oh and there is a way to share stuffs with all the computers so you can get the pictures off your main computer while using your lap top. It is something like networking, you can set it up so the computers can talk to each other and share files. It gives Mommy headaches but she can do it when we makes her.

My mom got an Acer Aspire laptop last year from Amazon. She uses that for her web design company and is pretty pleased with it. (She'd had an Acer pc before and so was familiar with and liked the brand.) Second on Mom's list of recommended laptops would be a Dell. (Dell was the brand used exclusively at the bank where she used to work.) Laptops are generally set up for wireless, if you've got the modem for it. Otherwise you need a really really long cable with 5 CATS on it. (Ha ha ha ha!)

Our Grandpaw just bought himself a new Chromebook and he loves it. It was $249, delivered, and it worked seamlessly with his network right out of the box. All the power of a laptop without the weight and heat; everything gets stored on the Cloud.

Mom has a Toshiba thats prolly about 4 years old. It replaced a Mac she had for 2-3 years that was kind of a lemon. Dad has a Mac because he uses one at work, they can be expensive. Dad says Macs are not as prone to viruses and other nasty things that come out but you still need a security software package. Moms came with the computer.
Those toesies are so velvety soft looking!

We are all Mac kitties here, and they are rather pricey! Not sure if TBT wants to shell out the bucks for one, but I believe the MacBook air would work well for him. Of course he could probably get any other laptop for about half as much...

Oh yeah, and make sure your modem is set up for wireless too. Most are these days, unless they are several years old. I don't know about other laptops, but Macs are super-easy to hook up - you just need to know the name of the connection and the password.

Äiti uses a mac and they are a bit more expensive However they apparently are more 'cat proof' as we can do remarkable damage by pressing the wrong combination of keys on a windows keyboard ('damage' ? cheek!) On a MAc we can turn the brightness off and also start the music but Äiti has never had to reboot.
Just make sure it's nice and big as these are really great to lie on - very warm!

And so sorry, where are my manners - lovely toesies!

Lap tops are all pretty much the same, find the price you like and then what is most important is the keyboard feels comfy. Mommy bought a new toshiba this year that she has on her desk, hooked up with a dual monitor and keyboard and mouse because she hates how the keys feels. And makes sure yous likes the touch pad too. Some cable companies give you wireless cable modem/routers combo. Otherwise, think of where you are setting up the router and where it has to broadcast to and then choose the one for that distance.Good Luck
