THE BIG THING: Well, we wanted to post pictures of Gotcha Day presents, but we are having problems uploading pictures. Apparently, the Mac equivalent of the Windows "Blue Screen of Death" is an endlessly spinning color wheel. It's not quite as bad as that, but it is close.
I sometimes find that when I attempt to upload pictures, the problem freezes. If they don't start uploading in about 4 seconds, I have to cancel fast or the spinning color wheel shows up and I can't do much even in other programs. I can't even do a "force quit". I can still shift to other programs briefly, but the color wheel follows me there after about 30 seconds. It ONLY starts when I'm trying to upload pictures at Blogger, so there may be something about Blogger that triggers it. I can only restart the computer off by the power button, and I don't think that is a good thing to do.
You aren't supposed to have to defragment a Mac, but I have a Mac Mini which (I think) uses a flash drive rather than a standard hard drive (there is no fan or spinning sounds, for example), so it may be different. I had this problem a few months ago, and a full defrag/cache clean/"file and permission rebuild" (whatever THAT is) seemed to solve it.
So I'm going to do that again. It takes several hours though, so I'm out of luck for pictures today.
I'll be posting a question on the Mac User Forum, and at Blogger Help. But if any of you Mac users know anything about this, please leave a comment. I can still read email and comments while the defrag etc programs are operating.
On behalf of Ayla, Iza, and Marley, I will say that they DID get their Gotcha Day presents last night and enjoyed them, but we will have to wait until tomorrow to post the pictures...
