Nightime Visitor

IZA: I saw the biggest moth I ever seen before!  An it was GREEN...  It stayed way up high for a while.
Then it started fluttering its way down the screen.
Sorry about the screen blurring the pictures, but it just WOULDNT go over to the glass side.  I guess it could grab the screen easier.
Look at that big body.  Oh Bast it looked yummy!
It finally got down to my level.  I KNEW I couldnt actally grab it, cuz Ive watched Ayla try with reglar moths a lot.
But, ya know, I finally just HAD to try annyway.
Update:  We just checked Wikipedia, and learned that "the adults do not eat or have mouths. They emerge as adults solely to mate, and as such, only live approximately one week. They are more commonly seen at night."

Wow, we don't generally "mate" either (an we are a bit confused about what that is), but at least we get to eat and live about 10-16 YEARS!!!  So we are kinna thinkin that, even iffen we COULD catch one, we would just not bother it for its one week of adult life.

WOW! I've never seen one of those guys! We only get boring, run-of-the-mill moths around here.

Whoa, wherever you live, you grow much bigger moths than we do. Too bad the moth couldn't come inside to play.

I've never seen a moth like that before Iza. I don't blame you for trying to grab it even though you knew that you couldn't.

OMC! We've never seen a moth so big! It's lucky it was on the other side of the glass.

Monster mothra! That needs chomping. What on earth was it ? We don't get anything that big here, and admit we might be a teeny bit nervous of it.

We didn't know that fact about moths not eating as adults. Very interesting.
We've never seen such a huge moth before.

Well, we know MOST moths DO eat. We've seen them at the flowers on the deck at night. But apparently some dont'. We kinna think that is sad.
