Writing "Mark's Mews"

Well, this is about the "Writing Process Blog Tour".  We were nominated to participate in it by Jan's Funny Farm.  They did a really great job of describing how and why they write their blog.  We only hope we can do as well.

There are 3 questions we are sposed ta answer, and then we are sposed ta nominate 3 blogs ta do the same.

1) What are we working on?  Well, our blog of course.  Skeeter an LC wrote a couple of personal short stories in their day, but we dont feel up to THAT!  Mebbe when we are older an more esperienced...

But we do write our own blog posts (mostly).  We start them, an we tell TBT about our intent.  He does some "minor" editing werk afterwards.  But our method is to see the pictures TBT takes of us and decide how best ta esplain what we were doing an thinking at the time.  That can get tricky when we see some pictures we didnt know were taken, an then we have ta get a bit "creative".  As best we unnerstand it, "creative" means we just make stuff up that sounds good.

Aside from the blog, we are werkin on The Great Cat Novel (werking title "The Great Cat Novel").  We are still "discussing" the first sentence, though.  Beginnings are such impawtant things. Ayla is pushing fer a climbing adventure in Siam (called "UP"), Iza wants to start a Cat Gothic story with "It was a dark and mousey night", an Marley wants to start a story about catching the Great White Skwerl with "Call me Marley".  We told him he at least has ta change his name ta like "Ishmarley" or somethin.  So we are in the "planning stages".
TBT says not ta "hold yer breaths" waitin fer it.  We dont quite get why holding yer breaths would make the book finish faster.  One of those unsensible Bein sayins, we guess. But he knows stuff.  So if not holding yer breaths helps us write the book, then definitely dont hold yer breaths!

Plus, we are trying to relearn how ta post videos.  The world needs more cat videos!

2) Why do we write what we do?  Thats a hard question.  Partly, we feel compelled to keep the blog going after Skeeter an LC started it.  But we also like the idea of expressing our thoughts and entertaining the wunnerful friends we have met over the years. Sometimes we think, "WWSW"*

Technically, we want ta write what we "do" because we "do" things.  And what else is there ta write ABOUT?

3) How does our writing process work?  Well, we do write our own blog posts (mostly).  We start them, an we tell TBT about our intent.  He does some minor editing werk afterwards.

Like when we're nappin.  WE dont know what we were thinking at the time cuz we were asleep.  But we know the KINDS of things we think while nappin, so we do our best.

We lounge a lot, so we have time to think.  So we look at the available recent pictures that are sittin around (an sometimes old ones when we are desperate).  One of us will get an idea, and raise a paw fer attention, like Marley here...
And we either agree (usually) or decide it doesnt werk.  But since we are usually looking fer anny idea, we go for it an hope fer the best.

OK, now fer the nominations fer other bloggercats ta post about why THEY write.  Well, we're not good at this.  So we are gonna pawkick this one to TBT an nominate HIM so he can post about hisself (its allus a good idea ta purr up the Bein who supplies the foods) and best, let HIM find cat blogs ta nominate.  Cuz we are plumb tuckered out doing this post and want to cuddle up on the heated waterbed.

So we nominate The Big Thing an stick HIM with findin other blogs ta nominate.  We're probly in a little trubble when he sees THIS in the morning.  But we'll be fed first, he has a short memory, and we're off the hook...

Writing blog posts are hard and take so much time. While we have LOTS of time on our paws, our humans, not so much. They liked reading about your process and hopefully, that will help them because we think they need all the help they can get! MOL! Purrs...
