Freaky Friday

IZA:  WARNING - SNAKES BELOW!

Well we had a real surprise.  TBT was going out through the basement, so we all crowded around the door there.  Then all of a sudden, the leafs piled up there started MOVING.  When TBT opened the door, a black snake ran around the corner of the house.  Well, WE stayed inside while TBT went out to look.

He saw it motionless in a flowerbed and tried to take a picture.  But the snake dint like that and headed back for the pile of leafs.  Next ta the OPEN basement door!  Guess what?  Yeah, it went straight in...

It was out of sight by the time he got back an WE were all sniffin around the plant stand, TBT got a flashlight an looked unner it.  He dint see anything at first, but realized it was hiding among the thick electric cords in the shadows.

He tried ta chase it back out with a pole, but Ssssnakey dint wanna come out.  So he shoved a board it there hard and Ssssnakey dint like THAT so he moved some.

Annyway, it went back an forth a few times until Ssssnakey came out on the floor an curled itself all up inna twisty ball.  TBT shoved it into an empty litter tub and got it outside quick (an closed the door)!

I was brave an went out too.  Sniffed at the tub, but I wasnt gonna stick MY nosie over the edge.  Ive heard those things can JUMP!  TBT finally tossed it over the fence an watched it slitherin away real fast.

We were glad it left.  We were afraid it would hide in the basement until it died and really stunk up the place!  All the airfreshener at Wal-Mart wouldnt cover THAT smell...

We all thinks that was one lucky snake.

I'm guessing you kitties aren't hunters or that snake would have met a really bad ending!

Ssssssssssnakey was lucky to escape with his life! When I was young I used to get out in the fields without my mum and used to bring her back snakes. She always screamed with delight when she saw them.

I'm like Flynn's mum - I scream with, well, not quite 'delight' exactly, but scream all the same. Did TBT not consider killing sssssssnakey? Do you know what kind it was? Here in Australia it's almost bound to be poisonous!

Brave work one and all.

How cool! My human LOVES snakes - she loved them even before she loved kitties! What kind of snake is that? It doesn't seem to have the classic poisonous head but it doesn't look like the common garter snakes she grew up with.

Meowmy likes snakes...well. maybe not too much, but she isn't frightened of them. We get racers here sometimes, and this looks like a black one? Or purrhaps an earth snake...or maybe a coach whip or a rat snake...or even an indigo snake...um...you know she is no expert at all, MOL!

Our dog-guy will try to snag/kill any snake he sees, no matter the size. Meowmy always tries to rescue them so they can go about their lives, helping to get rid of nasty varmints.
Mostly we have garter snakes, ribbon snakes and a few other kinds, such as little brown snake, blue racer, water snake...and a couple she cannot find in her book. She doesn't exactly remember what they look like! MOL!

Hope your snake appawsialted its freedom! MOL!
Nope a snake in the basement is not good...OMC!

We have neffur met a snake but We think that's probably a good thing. Mummy says some snakes are poisonous but She doesn't know how to tell the difference - and neither do We. So it's best not to meet ANY!
We think you were furry brave to go out and investigate that snakey!

Glad it wasn't visiting our house. Jan can SCREAM! And she would have, trust us on that.
