MARLEY: We are tryin out something new. There is stuff we have been wanting ta post but dint know when, so *I* thought up THIS idea. Its going to be stuff that doesn't fit our regular "day of" themes.
Today we will start with whiskers. Ya see, TBT collects our fallen-out whiskers (when he can find them). Its not like he has all of them. We lose some outside, some get captured by the sucky machine, etc. But what he can find, he keeps.
We arent sure why he does, but we think it is sweet of him to to it.
So this is the glass bottle TBT found to keep our old whiskers in.
You can see there are a lot of whiskers in there. But here are pictures of them spilled out and spread a bit.
There are a couple at the top here and on the right below we aren't sure of. Well, sometimes he's not wearing his reading glasses so they look like our whiskers but arent. Can you see the "wrong" ones?
He will get those removed next time he spills them all out.
I see one. My mom said because our carpet is light she can't see my white whiskers at all Ahe found one on a red blankie once. That was it. She still has a lot of Admiral's black ones. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of whiskers! And we do see one *whisker* that doesn't look like it belong there...
ReplyDeleteThat is a LOT of whiskers! My human found one of mine once and taped it to her laptop, so that every time she went out of town, my whisker went with her. It finally broke.
ReplyDeleteThe whisker, I meant... not the laptop, although the laptop probably does need replacing!
ReplyDeleteWhen you blogged about the whisker bottle several years ago mom started saving the ones she finds too. She has them in a little cut glass vase.
ReplyDeleteGee, we don't have.a whisker bottle, just a whisky bottle MOL!
ReplyDeleteThe head peep finds our whiskers occasionally, but it never occurred to her to save them. She'll have to do that! Usually she finds them by stepping on them just right so they poke her in the bare foot. Whiskers can be surprisingly sharp!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of whiskers! Our mom has little stashes of whiskers, but she should probably put them in a bottle for safe keeping.
ReplyDeleteMom has been saving whiskers too. She has them all mixed up but she knows who some of them belong to.
ReplyDeleteMy mom saved my old bro Eddie's baby teeth (she never found any of mine). Sadly, some terrible person broke into her house when Eddie was barely a year old and stole some stuff, including the tiny teeth, which she kept in a jewelry box. Those were more precious than the costume junk in the box.
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing and beautiful. Surely it is good luck to keep cat whiskers!
ReplyDeleteSorry - but I'm voting 'weerd' on this one. Why would TBT do that? I've never heard of anyone doing that - until I read the comments on this post and saw that others do it too, not just TBT. I'll say it again: weerd! LOL

Our Mum usually lets the vacuum suck our whiskers up! Occasionally she finds a keeper but then she loses it!

Whiskers are fascinating. I think because we don't have them and wish we did. Mol. I've also saved the few that I have found, along with teeth.
ReplyDeleteNós também encontramos um bigode diferente ali. Uau, são muitos bigodes, nossa humana tentou guardar alguns para usar em um gatinho bordado em ponto cruz, mas acabou desistido.
ReplyDeleteWow! Wes never thought of collecting whiskers here!

Mom and Dad (because mom made him) collect our whiskers too. She has whiskers from our first kitty. Some of ours she can tell which kitty it came from because we've all had different whisker patterns. She keeps then in our "vault" (big fireproof safe) because if something bad happens to the house, those are so important to her she wants them safe.
ReplyDeleteMom says found whiskers are good luck.
