Toungie Tuesday

IZA:  So lets see. I've done toesies, tummies, an whiskers recently.  Time fer something new.

TOUNGEY!

When I am MOST relaxed on TBT's lap, I like ta groom my furs.  He loves watchin it too.  Win-Win!
TBT's flashy-box is usually REALLY slow, but he is gettin to where he can click it BEFORE the picture he wants.  Well, actually, he is no more skilled that last year, but he gets lucky sometimes iffen he gets to take ENOUGH pictures, an I was doin a LOT of grooming.  Luck counts!
Pee Ess, if the closeups the past couple months have looked better, its because WE keep remindin TBT ta use the "macro" setting.  We are, of course, responsible fer ALL good pictures here...

We dont TAKE them, but he would never take a good one without us tellin him how...

Mancat Monday

MARLEY:  Im watching the ivy patch near the birdiefeeder fer mousies.  They like the cover of the ivy leafs and the spilled seeds from the birdiefeeder.  They think it is perfect fer them.  I think its purrfect fer ME!  I just wait an watch fer leaf movements.
An I lissen too.  When ya close yer eyes, yer hearin gets better.  Sometimes I find them better by sounds.
An some prey grabs my attention in An Unexpected Direction!
I go into pounce position, all focussed.  Can ya guess whats gonna happen next?
A HUGE mousie comes into view!!!  It cant see me with my natural camoflage orange an white colors against the green ivy.  This is a rare opportunity.
AND I POUNCE!  I am on top of the mousie, though it struggles a bit.   In fact, it struggles a LOT.
Er, in fact, it is a little too big fer me ta dispatch.  It must not be a mousie after all.  Mebbe its a RAT.  TBT has told me they can get quite LARGE!  I think mebbe I better leave this one alone.  It had claws an teef a lot like mine...
I better go back an lissen fer the smaller ones again...

Easy Like Sunday

AYLA:  Im representin us fer the Easy Like Sunday today.  Marley an Iza are outside today already not takin it as Easy as me.  So I gotta do More Easy ta make up.

Im nappin in the doggie bed.  TBT thought it would be Just Right fer 3 kittehs, but so far we have never all 3 been in there.  In fact, not 2 of us.  In fact, only me.
Thats OK with ME.  I love this thing.  I choose places ta nap about once a week each.  Huh?  Oh, I mean I find a place ta nap and stick with that spot fer about a week, then find another favrit place for the next week.
And, of course ya gotta get up, stretch and reverse yer nappin positions sometimes.  Iffen ya stay in one spot too long, yer muscles get funny-feelin.
This thing really IS a doggie bed.  Ya can tell by the cloth bone in the cushion.  Since there is no doggie smell on it, I really dont care WHO it is designed fer.  All I care about is that it is THICK and SOFT!

I'll go outside later, but fer now, its EASY time.

Have a great Easy, y'all...

She looks SO innocent.
But WE know better...

Sunny Friday

MARLEY:  After 2 rainy days, its nice ta get outside again.
We got almost an inch of rain, but the grass dried out real fast.
Its a bit tall, so it was real good fer rollin in.
I'm not bein "irrationally exuberant", am I?

Rainy Thursday

AYLA:  We are skippin the garden tour today cuz its raining.  In fact we dint even bother gettin up until a hour ago (TBT included).

Marley an Iza were nappin unner the covers with TBT .
I was outside the covers.  Ya may notice Im deliberately nappin ON a  shirt ON a waterbed.  And how much softer can the shirt make the waterbed?  Well, it LOOKS softer so it IS softer...  And who knows more about SOFT than us kittehs?

Tummy Tuesday

The date says Monday, but its Tuesday here!

IZA:  I was reminded lst week that I havent done many tummy pictures lately, so Im making up fer it today.  Here is a BUNCH!

Hope ya enjoyed...

BTW, TBT agrees that the little nommy Marley found was a baby shrew.  He doesnt know why he didnt think of shrews at the time.  Well, its the 1st one he's seen here.  We looked up pictures of baby shrews an baby possums, and it seems the possums dont grow pointy snouts til they are bigger.

Mancat Monday, and An Invitation

MARLEY:  Well I caught the WEERDEST litle thing a day ago.  It wasn't a mousie and it wasn't a baby mole.
TBT rhinks it is a baby opposum, but he has never seen one before.  Its the snout, he says.  But it wasn't very different from a mousie to us, so we nommed it real good.

But TBT has something ta mention separate from that so I turn it over ta him.

"Friends, I am trying to plan a luncheon of all cat/doggie bloggers in the Washington DC area in late October.  So if you happen to be in the area then or want to attend a luncheon with others, let me know.  I'm planning it at a reasonably nice Chinese restaurant for October 26th, but we will see who can come when.

Just mentioning it...

Back to the Mews.

Hmph,  I think my possum capture just got overtooked by Bein stuff!  Oh well.  It was a good Mancat Monday annyways.

Deck, and Easy Like Sunday

AYLA:  First, we got a comment from Alasandra, The Cats and Dogs about why there was a mailbox attached to our deck.  Some others of you might have wondered too.

Well, TBT likes to find unusual uses fer things, and he got tired of searching around in the shed fer his small gardening tools.  So one day while he was getting the mail, it occurred ta him that mailboxes are really just nice little weatherproof boxes.  So... he attached one to the old deck (and moved it to the new deck) to hold hose nozzles, snap-on couplers, plumbers tape, etc.  And there is one out in the back veggie garden to hold trowels, hand-weeders, pruners, dirt knives, etc.  They are very handy!

Now, fer Easy Like Sunday, I am takin my Easy Morning Nap in the laundry hamper.  Warm clean cloths are nice and all, but old worn cloths have a certain familiar smell to them.  Sort of like nappin on TBTs lap, but these dont move around anny.

I dont know where Marley an Iza are right now; outside probly.

Hope you all have a good Easy today!

Wounded Pirate?

AYLA:  Goodness, did I wound myself playing Pirates with Marley an Iza yesserday?
No, the camera just caught me funny so I thought I'd play a fooly on all of you...

[Ayla, if you are playing a fooly, you should stretch it out longer]

OH!  Um, yes I was terribly wounded repelling boarders from the SS Deck, an am limpin to the Sick Bay hoping for treats treatment.

[Ayla its too late NOW, you already told them its a fooly]

Oh Mouse-Droppings!  Um, "never mind"...

Talk Like a Pirate Day

Kittehs it doesnt get worse than this.   TBT tried to write a poem for the Day an stopped after an hour of writig the first few lines.  He sure isn't a swashbuckling poet!

He managed:

"Aye, the Jolly Roger’s hopeless crew we be,
Hapless lad and lassies three
An on our ship we must abide
TBT’s orders, rot our hide!

We’d do the mut’ny dear old friends,
But BT says that’s where it ends
Of  all the kibbles tossed and caught
So our mutiny come to not.

And worse, ya scurvy swags, we see,
The Lap would somehow not to be."

and at that point we bit his ears until he stopped trying.

SOME THINGS are not meant to be...

So scupper him mateys, we are gonna go with a previous year fer old time sakes...  We'll werk out how ta keelhaul him later..

Garden Tour Thursday

IZA:  Well, after a few weeks away, I sure have some stuff to show you today.  First, the only undeliberately planted black eye susans are the longest-lasting ones.  I guess they know where they want to be.
The Autumn Joy Sedums are starting to develop their Fall color.  They will be brick red in a few more weeks.  I have to admit, they are my favorite plants.  They seem unkillable and live forever.
The Asters are blooming.  I KEEP telling TBT to make some thing to hold them upright, but he never does.  So they sort of fall over.  I like the flowers though.
The Brunerra live long too,  They have been there all MY life.  TBT is considering DARING to divide them this year.  I'm of two thoughts about them.  One thought says, YEAH, lets have more.  The other thought is "don't mess with happy plants".   But OMG, wouldnt enough of them finally make a great border?
Let's see, whats goin on here?    Toads!
I dont bother toads.  So let's move on...
The Zinnia patch is going crazy.  The black eye susans are flopping over them a bit, but they look great.
If you see what I mean...   White ones surrounded by orange.  TBT says next year we will have yellow and orange.  Or mebbe  PINK.  Cool!
But I do like these.  Do you?
Here we can see the OTHER Asters .  I like both the red ones and the lilac ones.  But these would look better upright.
The black eye susans sure are looking good against the orange zinnias...
And the white ones.
The Autun Joy Sedums are getting to theit best.  They will get redder soon, but I think I like them pink.  TBT says he likes them redder.    We agree to disagree.
Marley is out here with me more often than I mention.    Mostly cuz he is a bit camera-shy outside. But he felt  OK about it today, so here he is.
A random look back at the new deck.  We are really loving it.
The Golden Rods are starting to bloom.
Marley and me are going in our own directions  He wants to catch a mice...
But watch him carefully.  He's good at it.
But he feels awkward when stared at, so lets continue.
The coleus bed is doing well.  Considering they were planted late.
And we all love the impatiens. They are starting to flower a lot lately.
Well, I like to sit on the garden path near the black eye susans.  I think I like them best.
 Hmm, just looking around here...
Runnin back to the lawn...  To stay in touch with you all.  Sorry, Im running here, blurrified..
Now lets see what Ayla an TBT have set out fer us on the deck...

OMG, shredded ham!  And shrimp juice!   And today, he is tossing around kibbles!  Catch them if you can!  And we have crushed new Nip leafs...  OMG...

And thank you all for coming along on our garden tour!
