The Prancing Princess And The Blanket

AYLA:  I dont mention this often, but I am The Prancing Princess.  TBT says I am cuz of the way I double-step down the hallway when he is bringing my meals to eat up on the shoerack or sometimes the high windowsill.  Thats the prancing part.

The Princess part is cuz I find the softest places ta nap.  And I can be demanding about it.  The Very Large Towel on the top of the shoe rack MUST be folded in 1/2 then 1/3rds (and I would prefer 2 of those but 1 is acceptable).

The bedroom chair has a large Winter blankie folded like that too, AND has a cat mat on the top.

But this is the best yet! 

There is a folded blankie at the bottom, a quilted matress pad, a sheet, and THEN a nice bloo blankie on top.  And it is all scrunchied, after some werk on my part  getting it JUST PURRFECT!

TBT calls it The Ayla Nest. 

Garden Tour Thursday

MARLEY:

Im doin it this week.  You may not think me a Gardening Cat, but I have my sensitive side.  Flowers are good.

And because it is MY tour, Im doin it MY WAY.  Cue the Sinatra song, 15 seconds, CUT!  OK, we're ready...

Closeups!

I have become very fond of our meadow flowers, so I want to show them off proper...  I think they are amazing.  Many combos of colors.  MY kind of flowers!

We are touring the meadow bed today.  There are many blooming.  The far view is nice...

But *I* like the smaller ones...  Cuz they are weerd and lovely both.

I have no idea what they are, but they have to be among the neatest flowers I have ever saw!

Now lets set down up on the shaded deck where it is warm underpaw but not too warm (and near to the house where the foods are) and see what Ayla and Iza have chosen fer snacks.

O.M.C.  - It is mousies!  They have caught 5 just for the snacks!  And iffen ya dont want mousies, there is bacon and ham!  And ta drink, we have Niptinis, Meowgaritas, and Cosmopolihens!

They have outdone themselves this time...

In Memorium - Cheysuli

TBT:  I am speaking for the Mews today about Cheysuli.  They all want to say something, but none want to speak for them all.  So I agreed to try to express their and my own thoughts.

We learned late last night that Cheysuli went over The Rainbow Bridge Monday evening.  We are sad.  We know her Beings are much sadder...  That is proper.  Chey was one of many friends to us; but one of one to them.  Our "sad" is their "SAD".

We started our blog after Chey did.  And honestly, we do not remember when we first discovered hers.  But when we did (myself, Skeeter and LC back then) we followed constantly.  I followed it because I love Siamese cats; Skeeter and LC, and later Ayla, Iza, and Marley did because they just liked HER!

We always enjoyed reading what she had to say about her life, and we loved the regular "Find Chey" contests.  We even stayed up some nights waiting for a chance to discover where she was before anyone else did.  Sometimes we succeeded in being first.  Sometimes we were close but had additional information to add.  Sometimes we had no idea where she was, but trying to figure it out was always fun.

We always enjoyed seeing a comment from Chey; she was a sharp-witted kitty, and often original in her thoughts.  We will miss that.  And we will also miss her because we considered her a friend.  Among the many cat-bloggers, she was always among our group of favorites.  It is OK to have some favorites.

We understand the difficulties of end-of-life issues.  Skeeter resisted leaving me; LC left suddenly (to rejoin Skeeter, I think).  Chey's Woman understood that Chey was leaving.  The Male worked to keep her with them.  Both are right things.  Some cats rebound, some don't, and you never know.

But the cat decides.  Chey's Woman and Male have said "the search may begin once more".  I support that.  Empty spaces should be filled, and love is never diminished by more love.  Memories abide in the heart; the mind creates more space for new caring and love.

Ayla says "Farewell, fellow Meezer".  And brings a milk ring to the center of the room.

Iza says "Farewell from a 1/2 Meezer".  And pushes a rattley mouse to the center of the room.

Marley says "Farewell, I did not know you long, but here is a sponge ball".

I say "Farewell Chey, good friend.  Run Free of pain and age"... 

Now, finally, we all know where to "Find Chey" forever...

Mancat Monday

MARLEY:  Iza dint used ta tolerate sharing TBTs lap, but she has gotten better about it the past year. 

 *I* appreciate that cuz she used ta get all pushy and upset.  I dint get as much lap time as I deserved!

Sometimes she even seems ta enjoy it.  Not today so much, but more often.

While she isnt actally THRILLED, she at least accepts it with good grace.

Mebbe some day she will get used ta having Ayla up on the lap at the same time.  I'm werkin on it as a stand-in ta get her used to a 2nd cat-on-the-lap...

Its a mancatly thing ta do.

Easy Like Sunday

To each their own spots this morning...  Its OK.  Sometimes we just feel happy napping alone.  TBT wasnt up yet, so we were just napping/waiting.

Its that time of year, Young Rabbits everywhere!  This one was trying to get into the garden. 

It takes a while for the foxes ta thin them out, so we help.

Iffen they would just eat the clover in the lawn, we wouldnt mind.  But they allus want ta get at the young carrots and bean seedlings and such...

Freaky Friday

Typical fail...  Marley and Ayla were sitting like bookends up on the deck rail, so I grabbed the camera.  As soon as Marley saw me, he went to hop down.  I tried to adjust to get him in mid-leap, but ended up with only half of both of them!

Garden Tour Thursday

IZA: 

Welcome to our Garden Tour!  I have a few new flowers to show.  Our mystery flower is blooming again.  It is the last of some old planting and there is no label.  TBT has looked at it, and it doesnt seem dividable.  So we just enjoy seeing it each late Spring.  Someday it wont show up, so we cherish it while we can.

The meadow flowers are starting to bloom.  This one is nice, and there are 2 pawfuls scattered around.

There are starting to be enough to see together.  Soon, there will be a squillion.  Yeah, there are that many buds ready ta open...

The Hummer/Bee/Butterfly bed is  growing "some stuff".  We dont know what they are, but we are sure they will look very "flowery" in a month or so.  They MUST get flowers, what else would hummers/bees/butterflies want?

The new Astilbe bed is looking good.  They were covered in weeds 2 days ago, but TBT has gotten all those pulled out.  Soon, they will be topped with large bright red flowers.  I look forward to that!

The Baptisia are blooming.  Who doesnt like blue flowers?  There arent many of those.

Well, it looks like things will be colorful here this year. 

Now lets gather in the shade.  Forgive the hot weather; we dint expect it.  It is TOO early fer 90 F days.  And we have some great snacks today.  Shrimps and crunchies!  And to cleanse our tongues, we have Niptinis AND Meowgaritas!  Chickie broth fer kittens, of course, and fer annykitty who prefers that.

Womancat Wensday

IZA:  Ayla was at her favrit lookout spot and I was pacing the rails.

I check out evrything.  This leaf might have been a bug in disguise, ya know?

I sat down fer a while and Ayla came along behind me.  Synchronized sitting! 

Then I decided ta resume my pacing.  I turned and told Ayla ta move.

She wouldnt.  Said she was purrfectly comfy where she was.  And she said iffen I whapped her, shed push me off the side.  She dint say WHICH side, but I could guess.

Would she really do that?  COULD she really do that?  Hmm, shes fast and had the low angle on me...

We'll never know.  Cuz I dint whap her.  I hope TBT opens the door soon; that normally gets us all ta run inside and check fer food.
