We had The First Freeze a few nights ago. Some things are pretty...
Nice colors...
But our Nip is dying...
The deck pots are going...
The pretty plants are all worn out.
The Fly Traps are dying back...
The hostas are hiding again for the Winter...
The Sedums are their deepest red...
The last meadow flowers are shutting down...
A neighbor's tree is gorgeous!
So we are saying goodbye to the plants and trees until next Spring!

How nice to see those fall colors. I think it's nature's way of making you feel good while saying good-bye for now.

We were fine until you said the nip was dying. No!!!
We haven't had a freeze yet. Normally it would occur at the end of October but we've been consistently pestered by the Chinese temps. (It's always something with them.) At any rate, hope you have a good supply of indoor nip plants!
Welcome winter ! It's been freezing for two weeks in the morning here. Purrs
Things are pretty ugly down this way...and the outside is even worse MOL!
I am always sad to see the flowers finished until the next year. Eric has a small tight bud on his rose. I hope it can flower before the frost gets it.
Have your Dad bring that nip in to dry it. I like the ghourd birdhouses. Did your Dad make them?
Save the nip - save the kittehs' happiness.
Our color is almost all gone. Plus mum wants to know how you did that hanging thing on the flag pole. Looks like a cool set up for bird feeding.
They all have to take a long winter's nap to be ready for getting all flowery and leavey next springtime.
