In The Nip Patch

IZA:  Apparently, NIP plants are tough.  We have had a couple hard freezes here and they arent dead yet.  For which I am very thankful.  NIP is very impawtant to me!

TBT has collected whole plants and hung them upside down in the basement ta dry.  So I (we) are good for the Winter.

Marley surprized me while I was sitting among the NIP, and I got all pouncey and protective.

 Its HIS NIP too of course, but I donnt allus remember that.  He backed off.  But TBT was there and reminded him that there was plenty in the house so it was OK.

Going Out

Some mornings we want to go outside at random times.  Somedays we all want to go out at the same times.  Today was a "all at once" time.

We waited...

And waited.  

TBT EVENTUALLY opened the door!

Marley went out first.  It varies.  Sometimes Ayla hops over the others ta get out.

But not this time.  She waited.

And then hopped over Iza and out of sight...

Iza likes to make sure everything is safe.  So out she went last...

Mancat Monday

MARLEY:  These are actually from a week ago, but I am just catching up...

TBT had this entire area covered with black plastic sheeting all Summer.  To "kill the weeds and keep the bulbs dry" he said.  Naturally, I had to check it out after he removed the sheeting.  There might be mousie holes!

I was SHOCKED!  Not a mousie hole in sight.  Apparently, they didn't like the cover.   It was really dry soil.  Oh, DUH!  Nothing under it for them ta EAT...  I should have realized that.

Easy Like Sunday

AYLA:  Well, these arent all Sunday, but they are EASY, and thats what counts, right?

The dresser drawers have been really popular lately.  We all get some turns in them.   I like the highest one.

Marley can happily sleep in the top.

Or 2nd drawer.

Iza allus likes the 2nd drawer.  Its EASY for her to get there.

Complaint

TBT has been failing us lately.  Oh we get fed, have clean litterboxes, get outside, get toys tossed around, and have laptime in the evening and cuddles on the bed at night.  But he has been REALLY slack about computer time.

We apologize for HIM about that.  But we kinna unnerstand.  He has been workin real hard outside to get things done before the REALLY cold weather hits.  He spends a lot of time outside in the daylight and comes in all weak and tired.

By the time he feeds US (ALLUS THE MOST IMPAWTANT THING) and makes his own dinner, and eats it and watches some news or science stuff, he is ready ta crawl into bed.

Not that WE mind that in the least.  We think most Bein problems are that they dont sleep enough.  But it means we havent been visiting or posting like usual, and we are complaining to him about that.

He has agreed to try to make some changes to get "back to usual order".

And we said he better or WE are gonna get bitey and start pushing things off tables..   

Thanksgiving Day

Happy Thanksgiving Day

Well, its Thanksgiving Day here, and we are indeed thankful.

We are thankful fer our warm dry house and inneresting yard with mousies and birdies .

We are thankful fer good People food and canned food.

We are thankful fer rattley-mouse toys and milk rings and nip.

We are thankful fer our friends and readers.

We are thankful fer each other (usually).

We are thankful fer TBT who takes such good care of us, his lap, scritchies, and attention...

Werdless Wensday

Mancat Monday Flashback

MARLEY:   It was Feb 2011.  I was new here, and still a kitten.  I had very seen an empty tissue box before.

There was an opening I could reach into.

So I did.  Just ta see if there was annything inside.

There wasnt, but it was fun checking.

 In fact, though I dint know it then, I was learning to mousie-hunt!

It just came "natural"...

Until I pushed my head in!

 And got STUCK!!!

Between my head, my collar, and my elbow in the opening, I couldnt get out and flopped all around.

TBT stopped taking pictures and got me free.  Instead of takig a chance rubbing my face, he just easily ripped it apart so that there just wasnt anny tight opening annymore. 

Easy Like Sunday

AYLA: I usually take my meals in the bedroom.  But I wasnt hungry at 1st Lunch, so I just let the bowl sit there.  Marley and Iza WERE hungry and wanted mine.  But TBT was standing right there AND the bowl was real close to me...  So they werent sure what ta do.

So TBT decided ta move the bowl a few toesies at a time ta see how far away from me the bowl had ta be before Marley would go for it.  Well, it had ta be moved THIS far...

And ta keep the peace, he let Marley eat half of it and then gave the rest to Iza.

Which was all OK with me, I was being EASY about it.  Though I WILL make sure ta remind both of them soon that I gave them some of MY food...  I should be able ta get SOMETHING fer that.

Freaky Friday

TBT:  No cat on the mat...

No cat on the blanket...

No cat on the furniture.  No cat on my lap...

It seems to be "Hidey Night".

It happens sometimes that each of the cats just sit in secret places thinking their secret thoughts.  But when all 3 do it at once, that's FREAKY...

Garden

We had The First Freeze a few nights ago.  Some things are pretty...

Nice colors...

But our Nip is dying...

The deck pots are going...

The pretty plants are all worn out.

The Fly Traps are dying back...

The hostas are hiding again for the Winter...

The Sedums are their deepest red...

The last meadow flowers are shutting down...

A neighbor's tree is gorgeous!

So we are saying goodbye to the plants and trees until next Spring!
