Freaky Friday

IZA:  Our Saucer Magnolia Tree blooms in early Spring.  But it sent out a few Fall flowers this weerd year...
Well, ya take what ya can get...

TBT:  We got more rain here this year than any time in the past 80 years, and close to the top 5 ever recorded.  And the temperatures went up and down oddly.  Three decades ago, I used to see my lawn soil crack open from drought and it was typical to see 5 days a year over 100F.    I haven't seen a 100F day in years now.  But on average all year, it is warmer.

We have not had any blooms since September(mostly daylilies.)
Last year, we had blooms into early November!
We also have had warm-cool weather since September.
Strange. At least the temps indoors have been consistent ;) MOL!

Well, your weather must have migrated down under, TBT, 'cos our summers just keep getting hotter and hotter.

We still had lots of flowers in the garden when we went on holiday, but when we came back last week the frost had finished them off. I had a surprise with Eric's rose though. All of the rose bushes are around 3 feet high, but one stem of Eric's has grown right up through the clematis and has 4 buds on it. It has grown to more than 6 feet tall! I don't think the buds will bloom though because it is too cold and wet now.

Snip them off low and put them in water with a crushed aspirin. They should bloom. TBT

It's still trying to hold on even if it's fall weather already. We not as much rain but our temperatures were really high in July and August. Today we get heavy rains, so it's been a crazy year so far with the weather. Thanks for sharing the photo. Have a great upcoming weekend.

Very pretty blooms. We have had an excess of rain lately too. I hope we don't get an excess of snow this winter.

Sounds like we got your weather. In NE Ohio we had multiple 95+ degree days and the soil cracked like you said.

Same here we have plants that are blooming at odd times, and we have gotten more rain then we ever remember getting.

A lot of violets in my yard. Makes me sad. I love them...my favorite and I hate to see their beautiful tiny faces there to be vanquished by a frost.
