MARLEY: I decided ta spend some serious nappin time on the otto-man.
TBT says it is going away soon.Well, it IS old. LC even marked it before she was spayed and that was eleventy-thirty years ago [1993: TBT].
But there are some good memories there.
I can still sniff some of them.
So I'm using it up as best I can.
Since it is leaving, furs are not a problem...
The chair it came with is going away too. I wont even SHOW you all the pee marking on THAT. TBT is getting used to the new chair. I dont like it when the front suddenly lifts up, but it is OK afterwards. More TBT leg ta sit on...
Our kitties must have felt that way, too when we got a whole new set of furniture in the living room...and two recliners as well....but ahhh, the comforts of those newer things far outweighed the old memories...which are preserved in tons of pictures!! But until there are new sniffies and whiffies on the new things, you just might miss the old ones.
ReplyDeleteOnce we got an upholstered rocker from our 'Oma', and Minko attacked it with a vengeance...it didn't have any correct sniffies on it! LOL, LOL!
It's always sad to lose old napping spots.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. Couldn't TBT just have moved the otto-man into the pusscat room?

Gee! With new futniture, you will have to work harder to get your smells(not pee) and fur on them ;)

Humans do seem to get rid of the best furniture Marley!
ReplyDeleteYour Dad needs to get you a new ottoman or let you keep that one. XO
ReplyDeleteNew furniture is something peeps love, but the cats not so much - enjoy your last nap on the otto!
ReplyDeleteThose old well loved spots with their interesting smells are the best.
ReplyDeleteWhen we first took on my MIL's cats when she died they were mostly outdoor and slept in the barns. We sold the farmhouse and moved them up to our bungalow but didn't want them going back down to the barns to sleep. I fed them in the log shed at night and shut them in there with pillows and cushions for beds and they slept in a 10 cat nap pile. After they had all gone over the Bridge I never moved their beds because we still had Kit and she liked to sleep there. Several years later Flynn discovered those beds and they had the effect of nip on him. He used to go crazy drooling and rubbing on them. He could obviously smell the cats from all those years before.
It is sorts like saying good-bye to an old friend.
ReplyDeleteI guess all of us cats have to lose our old napping places every now and again. I have never liked that and I have to spend so much time breaking new stuff in again. You get all the furs and smells exactly right and the parents move it out and replace it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it while you can!
ReplyDeleteTBT ought to keep the ottoman just because it looks so comfy, Marley.
ReplyDeleteThat Ottoman is a terrific cat bed! It is at the purrfect height and is the purrfect size and it carries the memories of all the currents and befores! We have one chair here that still has Hissy old licorice smell on it and it is our favorite! But we do love the recliners too! Have a marvellously happy day.
ReplyDeleteWe were worried when our old couch was going. The corners made great scratching areas and it was looking really bad but... the new one was leather and it so nice. We even all fit on it with Dad
