Thankful Thursday

AYLA:  I am thankful fer TBT lap when I can get it safely.  I spend most of my time in the bedroom or on the deck.  But when I come out and notice The Lap is empty (because he just sat down) I am right up there!

And he welcomes me so nicely.  Lots of fur-rubs, lots of head and chin scritchies, lots of happy-talk from him to encourage me to stay...   I stay as long as he doesnt move too much.

Womancat Wensday

IZA:  I decided to sleep in the headboard of the waterbed the other night.  The edge of the tissue box was not the most comfortable place.

Neither was the edge of the book, but it was slightly better.  

I can sleep on almost annything though...

TBT is so used ta us getting on his lap, he sometimes doesn't even notice it.

Its like "Oh, Hi"...  and we've been there 10 minutes,   AND he's been scratching us, MOL!

Even Ayla is out with us, and that is sometimes too rare.   I'm stretched out across the ottoman...

Iza is full-out on te minor heaty mat.

Ayla is enjoying calm time on TBT   Even TBT is doing the Easy.  Note the soft slippers and the bowl of fresh fruit in the TV tray...

In Memorium, Sammy And Miles

We don't often post tributes to Cats Who Have Gone Over The Bridge.  That's not because we dont love them, it is because we never know what to say beyond sorrow that their Beins miss them so very very much.   There have been so many that we have loved and whose lives we have enjoyed reading about.

But there is something about Sammy and Miles Meezer that always attracted us. First, as we have mentioned, they were the first cats to leave a comment on our blog.  We don't forget that.  It could have been someone else, but it wasn't.

And we followed their crazy exploits over the years.  The shipping off to foreign places, the box trips down the stairs, HAM!  The various adventures.

When I was a child, we had a female Meezer named Kenani.  When she went OTB, Mom got another named Hai Yu ("Hey You").  When I got out on my own, I wanted a Meezer.  But I had rescue kittens (and loved them dearly).

Sammy and Miles reminded me how much I wanted a loud talkative Meezer.  In 2007, I emailed a local Siamese breeder saying that "If you have a Siamese female that isn't up to your breeding standards, I would have a good home for her".  She replied that indeed she did have a small female and wasn't sure what to do with her because she didn't like to have a female near a new litter.

So I got Ayla, all adult weight 6.2 lbs.  Because loving Sammy and Miles caused me to search...  She is my tiny dancer, prancer, princess...  So that is another thing I owe Sammy and Miles.

I've been blogging over 12 years now.  I owe the start to Max The Psychokitty whose blog I had read from 2004, but I owe a lot to Sammy and Miles too.

When Skeeter went OTB in Dec 2008 and LC followed him in Jan 2010, I said it was the end of an era for me.  That was certainly true for me, but in blogging terms, it was only a few years.

Sammy and Miles were a part of MY life for the 12 years I knew them.

I can only imagine the romping good times they are having OTB, in the prime of their health, playing tricks and enjoying fields of Primo Catnip, and Ham trees etc.  I will always think of them that way.

Flashback Friday

This week in 2012 was unusual...

Usually it was Ayla and Marley nappin together, but Iza and Marley were getting together.

 Which MAY have made Ayla jealous.  She seldom raised a paw at Marley...

So maybe that is why she napped with Iza (a very rare event)!  And one of the best pictures of Iza's ultra-smooth minkish fur...

And Iza was being snuggly unner a sheet.

Sometimes, things just got unexpected...

Womancat Wensday

IZA:  ICE CREAM!  I dont see it often, but this stuff is really great...  I get a spoontip a couple times when he has some hisself.  It is hard to imagine something cold tasting good, but it does.

I'm staring at the empty container here.   Iffen he puts it on the floor, I will stick my face in it and lap up whatever I can reach.

Still staring.  I dont think it will be tonite, though.  Whenever he lets me at it,  he has ta wash my face afterwards and neither of us like THAT!

He DID scrape what he could and put it into MY bowl and I licked that bowl CLEAN!

Twofer Tuesday

IZA:  I am seriously relaxin today!  On my back, on the major heaty mat, with floaty toes.  BLISS!

Marley is on the chair back (he really loves that spot and Ayla and I dont).   He plays "Monorail Cat" real good!

But he also likes sitting more normally see he can look around better.

He only sits there when TBT is in the chair, though.  Well, we all have our special places around him in the chair (when we arent sitting on his lap).  Marley likes the back, I like the arm, and Ayla likes ta sit on the desk next ta him. 

Small territories, but it keeps the peace...

Mancat Monday

MARLEY:  I'm not often up here, but I can see why Ayla likes it.  Ya can almost see the whole house from here!  And fer sure, up HERE, Iza isnt gonna tap yer ankles as ya walk past...

In fact, I can see Iza down on the floor now an she is lookin up at me.  She hates that...  PURR!!!

Easy Like Sunday

AYLA:  Everyone was resting this afternoon except ME and TBT.  He was outside werkin in the yard.  We had all been out there around him (lookin fer mousies) but we got tired and went inside. 

Iza and Marley were on the bunk beds.  I don't like it there, too low...

But they sure do look comfy, dont they?  I gotta try it there when they are out.

So there I was just standing arund, deciding where ta nap.

Ever find yerself not being able ta make up yer mind about where ta nap?  

I looked left...

I looked forward...

I think I'll just sit here and wait fer TBT ta come in and make a lap!  Or feed us.  Either is good...

Silly Saturday

On a rainy afternoon...

Flashback Friday

IZA:  It was this week in 2009.  I had just had my Ladygardenectomy.  TBT had ta put this awful cone on my head so I wouldnt pull out the stitches.  I hated it!  The only time it came off was dinnertimes!

So TBT tried making a "onesie" fer me.  That was better, but I could get at the stitches.  And he SHOULD have decorated it BEFORE he put it on me!

Then he found an inflatable collar (for small dogs) and that werked really well!  I could eat and poop normally.

But I sure was happy ta get it off...

Valentine's Day

IZA:

OOH, I just HAVE to add that was so thrillifying when Spittikens popped out of the tunnel today.  I had my best stuff on, and Spittikins joined in.


He is SUCH a good mancat to indulge my goth whims like that!

But then we sat and groomed each other for HOURS...

BLISS!


 Oh thank you my beloved one.  This IS the best day of the year (so far).  I wish this could go on FOREVER, but you said you had ta get back home before dark, so I unnerstand.  Oh, my dearest one, thank you for spending your half day with me...

 If we had red tulips here, I would present you with one, my sweet sweet Spittikins...

Comment Troubles Again

We have routinely had problems with getting comments to our friends to show up.  It had been going pretty well the past few weeks but suddenly got bad again today.

Of the first 10 friends we visited, only 2 comments got through, and THEN, the picture verifications showed up.  No matter how carefully TBT looks, he can't seem to satisfy the picture-identification-demands.

We don't know what makes those picture-demands show up.  And, do you get them when visiting US?  We cant tell.

We read that Google has made some changes, and mebbe that is the cause of the new difficulties.

We love ta visit our friends.  We love ta leave comments.  We feel like if ya dont see comments from us, ya dont know we visited.  And that ya would stop visiting us...

We worry that the Gods Of The Sites are trying ta get us to leave by making it hard ta comment.

We keep trying.  We will visit friends again tomorrow to see if things werk better (sometimes they do).  We love our friends.  It is all so annoying and baffling...
